March 2006
March 25th - So I was thinking about art today.  Ok, well not art, more like cartoons.  At any rate, I did some surfin' and came across this website that had some Chevelle cartoons.  Check it out.

March 19th - I went to the Columbus Auto Show yesterday.  I was sort of disappointed that the new Camaro and new Challenger weren't there, but at least I did get to see the National Trail Raceway El Camino.

March 16th - (This was sent to me by one of our club members)  "A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.  Well, there's a very simple answer. Nobody bothered to check the oil. We just didn't know we were getting low.  The reason for that is purely geographical. Our oil is located in Alaska, California, Oklahoma and Texas.  Our dipsticks are located in Washington D.C."

March 12th - FINDLAY, Ohio, Oct. 16, 1998 (UPI)--A contempt of court arrest warrant has been issued for an Ohio man who obeyed a court order to return a vintage race car to another man by cutting it into hundreds of pieces.

Roger Tanner of Findlay, who reportedly fled Ohio to avoid a 30- day jail sentence, cut up the vintage BMW race car rather than return it to Terry Freed, his partner. A judge also has ordered Tanner to pay $26,956 to Freed as compensation for destroying the car. The two men had planned to restore the vehicle but Freed said a disagreement occurred over who would do the work.

The Toledo Blade reported receiving a telephone call from Tanner, who said he was in Texas and that he won't return to Ohio because he can't "get a fair shake." He called his flight to Texas "a change of venue. "

Tanner claims he complied with the court order. He told the newspaper the order "listed each and every part of the car separately, so that's how I gave it to him."

March 7th - Well the Columbus Auto Show is coming again this weekend, and I got to thinking about what would happen if they brought back the Chevelle rather than the Camaro.  That reminded me that a couple of years ago that's exactly what the folks at Aloha Dream Cars had put into reality with their Chevelle concept.  They took one of the new GTOs and grafted a modern Chevelle look to it.  I appreciate the enthusiasm, but not sure I would buy one over the real thing.

March 3rd - I sometimes get asked about how many of a certain car combination were produced.  Unfortunately, I'm not that much "in the know," but I did find a poster that is fairly comprehensive.  The folks at Designs Computed put this poster together.  Pretty cool.  (This is info I found and is provided simply as fyi; we receive no monies for its mention.)
