August 23rd - If any of you missed the Ohio Northern Chevelle's ACES Regional Event last month, you missed a heck of a weekend party (or so I heard).  I had a last minute family issue that came up, so I can only relive it by checking out the dozens and dozens of photos on their website.  This show was so big, they actually had to turn people away!!!  Check it out.

August 18th - Last night I saw a commercial for a movie coming out on August 28th called War.  The movie has a couple of martial arts experts including Jason Statham who was in the Transporter, Crank, and The Italian Job and Jet li.  The movie definitely will be action packed with tons of hand to hand fight scenes.

At any rate, what caught my attention was a brief snapshot of a car chase.  One of the cars is a '69 Chevelle that does a front end flip off a median while the import drives off.  You can tell its a '69 because the dual head light with inset turn signal in the bumper.  But it looks as if they've put '70 strips on the car.  Also, there was a little creative license in putting "cowl induction" on the hood bulge, which didn't come out until '70.

Why is it that the awesome American muscle car is sacrificed rather than the ricer?!?  Well at least, the Chevelle gets some on screen time.

August 9th - Tonight I had dinner in a local Italian place, and up on the bar TV they were running Hot Rod Power Tour TV on ESPN HD.  Well I don't have that at home so I watched the pictures for a while (volume was turned off).  Interestingly, up came a silver colored '70 Chevelle that had something about it I just couldn't place.  So, I came home and poked around a little on the computer.  Turns out that this is car is a special Mothers Wax car that runs on propane!!  Check it out.

August 8th - Folks, one of our club member has started a '73 El Camino project.  Unfortunately, he's having trouble locating parts.  In particular he is looking for inner rear wheel wells.  If you have any contacts for good used or after market parts for the '73-'77 El Caminos, please email Les  Thanks.
