September 20th -  My Chevelle wall calendar for this month shows a Beaumont.  For those of you that don't know, a Beaumont is the Chevelle that was sold in Canada, but that had many Pontiac features.  Other than spotting one in a bar parking lot a decade ago, I've not had a chance to look at these unusual cars up close.  One of our club member attended the ACES Regional event in Niagara and got to see several.  Here are some of the pictures he took of these cars.  The most noticeable difference is the split grill.

You can read more about Beaumonts here.

September 8th -  A while ago I mentioned that there are a bunch of new TV shows about cars floating around.  One of them is called Pinks.  Basically its a best 3 of 5 with the winner taking the loser's car home.  At any rate, they have a commercial to advertise it involving a drag race in the desert between a Chevelle and a Mustang.

Now I know its just a commercial meant to grab your attention, but there was something about the Chevelle that just didn't seem right.  And I'm not talking about the '71 rear dual taillight bumper on a '70 model.  Something more fundamental.

Then I remember the cut away to the shift light.  But if you look closely at the interior shot, the guy is driving an automatic column shift(!)  They might away with that stuff in Hollywood but not here.  Hahaha.

September 3rd -  It's Labor Day weekend.  The last summer time holiday, but dang you wouldn't know it by being outside.  It's cold.  Well maybe it just feels cold because we've had such hot weather, but it definitely lets you know that fall is coming.  That means its Super Chevy Show time in central Ohio.  Yup, once again, National Trail Raceway will host Super Chevy.  So make plans to attend because it will be one of the last opportunities before the fall sets in.
